We’re thrilled to share that the Lions Club of Mzizima has successfully completed a remarkable clean water project, bringing safe drinking water to over 40,000 schoolchildren across Dar es Salaam.
Led by Lion Jayesh Raichura, President Lion Yusuf Dalal, and Convener Lion Shabbir Khanbhai, the project focused on transforming water access in 14 schools. Many of these institutions faced serious challenges with outdated or insufficient water systems. Through our efforts, old infrastructure was replaced, and existing systems were upgraded, ensuring students can now enjoy clean, safe water every single day.
The impact of this project goes far beyond the school gates, benefiting more than 1.2 million people every month through improved access to clean, reliable water. This means improved hygiene, reduced the risk of waterborne diseases, and a healthier environment for learning and growth.
